Privacy Policy
This policy explains what data the Clipciety desktop app ("Clipciety", "the app") handles and where it goes. Clipciety is made by Sinciety ("we", "us"). In short: your recordings and clips stay on your computer, we do not run servers that collect your data, and nothing is posted to any platform unless you choose to post it.
1. Data that stays on your computer
Clipciety stores the following only on your own PC, in the app's data folder (on Windows: %APPDATA%\com.sinciety.clipciety):
- Your stream recordings' locations and the clips, thumbnails and vertical videos Clipciety creates from them.
- Chat messages recorded during your streams, viewer counts sampled during your streams, and the highlights and statistics calculated from them.
- Your settings, including your OBS connection details.
- Sign-in tokens for platforms you connect, and any API keys you enter. These are stored encrypted.
We cannot see or access this data. It stays on your computer until you delete it (see section 6).
2. Data we collect
Sinciety does not operate servers that receive your recordings, clips, chat, analytics or account information. Clipciety does not include advertising or third-party analytics.
To check for updates, Clipciety downloads an update file and installers from GitHub, which is operated by GitHub, Inc. GitHub receives standard technical information such as your IP address when this happens, under GitHub's Privacy Statement. We do not receive information that identifies you from these checks.
3. Platforms you choose to connect
You can connect accounts so Clipciety can work with them. Each connection uses that platform's official sign-in, asks for your permission, and can be disconnected in Clipciety (Integrations → Log out) or in the platform's own account settings at any time.
| Platform | What Clipciety accesses | What it's used for |
|---|---|---|
| TikTok | Your basic profile (open ID, display name, avatar) through the user.info.basic permission, and the ability to post videos through video.publish. | Showing which account you're posting to, and posting the clips you choose, with the privacy and interaction settings you select. Clipciety only posts when you click Post. |
| YouTube (Google) | Your channel's basic information, and permission to upload videos. | Showing which channel you're posting to, and uploading the clips you choose as Shorts. Clipciety only uploads when you click Post. |
| Twitch | Chat messages in your channel while you're live, your current viewer count, and your follower total. | Finding the moments your audience reacted to, and showing your stream statistics. Chat is processed and stored on your computer. |
| OBS Studio | Your stream, recording and replay buffer status, on your own computer. | Starting live mode when you go live and saving clips from the replay buffer. |
When Clipciety posts to TikTok or YouTube, the video and the text you approved (title, caption, hashtags) are sent to that platform. From then on that content is handled under the platform's own terms and privacy policy.
4. AI features
Writing titles, captions and hashtags with AI is optional and only works if you enter your own Anthropic API key. When you use it, Clipciety sends Anthropic text only: the reasons a moment was detected, chat messages from around that moment, and a transcript of what was said in the clip if one exists. Your video is never sent. Anthropic handles this data under its own terms and privacy policy.
Automatic captions use speech recognition that runs on your computer. The speech model is downloaded once from Hugging Face; your audio is not sent anywhere.
5. Data from TikTok
Data Clipciety receives from TikTok (your basic profile and the results of posting) is used only to provide the features above, is stored only on your computer, and is not sold, shared with other parties or used for advertising. Disconnecting TikTok in Clipciety deletes the stored TikTok sign-in from your computer.
6. Keeping and deleting your data
- Delete individual clips, or all skipped clips, in the app. Their files are removed from your computer. Your original stream recordings are never deleted by Clipciety.
- Delete a broadcast in the app to remove its clips, chat and statistics.
- Log out of a platform in Integrations to delete its stored sign-in. You can also revoke access in that platform's settings.
- Uninstalling Clipciety removes the app. To remove all remaining data, also delete the data folder listed in section 1.
7. Children
Clipciety is not intended for anyone under 13, or under the minimum age required by the platforms you connect, whichever is higher.
8. Your rights
Because your data is stored on your own computer, you can view, export and delete it directly. If you have a question or request about your data, contact us at the address below.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and its effective date. If Clipciety starts collecting data in a new way, we'll explain it here before it happens.
